'Say not in grief 'he is no more' but live in thankfulness that he was'
Hebrew proverb
I create this page in memory of my wonderful Grandad who has left me with so many lovely memories. A hardworking, family man, a brave but sadly forgotten soldier.
Remembered now with sincere love.
Such a sad end for you Grandad and I only hope that if there is fault by anyone that justice is gained.
Bless you with all my love and all my heart.

Armistace day
The eleventh month, the eleventh day, the eleventh hour a day you always remembered and I would watch you stand for the 2 minute silence. This week has also marked the passing of a year since you left us and I lovingly removed my poppy from my chest and placed it on yours which had fallen still and your heart silent. I hope you are at peace with all our loved ones now grandad.
My love to you now and always xxxx
I love this picture of you as you look healthy and happy. This was many years after nan died but you did learn to live again. I am so sad and so very sorry for how ill and frail you became I wish with all my heart I could rewind the clock many years but only with the knowledge I now have so that I would have the opportunity to make some changes. I would certainly not allow you to suffer in the way that you did and I hope that there will be justice for you in the end. Love you Grandad xxx
Missing you at Christmas time.
Everybody's rushing round
full of festive cheer
but I'm finding all I want to do
at christmas is come here.
To talk to you for a little while
and bring a flower or two
I can't buy you presents
so what else can I do?
Remember Grandad i love you & Nan
I'm still hurting with all this pain
I don't think it will ever stop
until I'm with you again.....
THE BROKEN CHAIN
We little knew that morning that God was going to all your name,
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
Poem from your funeral xx
Weep not for me though I am gone into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul's at rest
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed.
For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.
With Love Grandad xx
Do not stand
at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds
that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight
on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the
morning's hush
I am the soft uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star that
shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there.
I did not die.
Our hearts are truly broken, our tears they fall like rain, we wish to see you one more time to ease this awful pain. We know that you're in Heaven and in Heaven you shall remain a very special Angel, until we meet again xxx
Grandad xx
God looked around his garden
and found an empty place
He then looked down upon this earth
and saw your tired face
He put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never
get well on earth again
He saw that the road was getting rough
and the hills too hard to climb
So he closed your weary eyelids
and whispered, “Peace be thine”
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home
